Island Hoppers Fiji in their recent support for Volcom Fiji Pro 2013 has provided world class helicopter meidvac services throughout the event on Tavarua Island.
Chief of operations Craig Keighley said, during the event, Island Hoppers had airlifted an Australian surfer after complaining of injuries.
“There was only one injury encountered and with the professional services of Island Hoppers Helicopters at hand the outcome was successful,” Mr Keighley said.
“The wing to wing transfer was made from Namotu Island to Nadi International Airport to an Air Ambulance flight from Australia.
“This Medivac procedure was coordinated between the patient’s medical provider in Australia and Island Hoppers Fiji.”
Island Hoppers Medivac service is world-renowned and services not only provided to Fiji but also linked worldwide such as, Care Flight and Dynamic to name a few.
Services
The modern fleet of seven helicopters and two aeroplanes features stretcher equipment, oxygen, full medical deployment kits and a medic for immediate dispatch.
“With such a tremendous fleet size we have the ability to provide managed medical and emergency services throughout Fiji at no standby cost to the state or end user of the services.”

Island Hoppers Medivac and Search and Rescue service have been established in Fiji for over 35 years looking after the people of Fiji and tourists alike.
A dedicated aircraft is on standby 24 hours a day 7 days a week free of charge for the Ministry of Health and Fiji’s medical emergencies.
“Our medivac services fleet including twin engine, twin stretcher options and winch recovery at sea and in dense bush or mountainous areas making it a timely response for all.
“Medivac activities range from critical illness, complications with child birth, cardiac arrests, hospital transfers, accidents and sporting injuries,’’ said Keighley.
Island Hoppers Medivac Services are provided through out Fiji including all Islands and remote villages and the south pacific region including Tonga and Samoa.
“Island Hoppers provides Medic training to pilots and crew and also maintains the Hospital Heli Ports and Pads throughout Fiji.
Adding on Keighley said this also involves safety training for hospital personnel for loading and unloading of passengers to and from aircraft, always maintaining safety and patient’s wellbeing.
