Coffee lovers could expect a new hangout spot at the end of Nadi Town as plans fall into place for a locally-owned restaurant.

Desi Hut is fast becoming a hot spot for people in Nadi for its fresh and affordable meals.

The restaurant operates out of the J Kevi Complex, and specialises in Indian, Fijian and Chinese cuisines.

With an investment of $50,000, Desi Hut will have a Rockson Lounge Bar and Café in the coming weeks.

It opens from 8am six days a week, said the owner, Dilip Kumar.

Mr Kumar and his wife, Sonam Lal, recently moved to the west after they closed down their joinery business in Suva.

Mr Kumar wants to provide the best service and meals to the people of Nadi as it has an ever-growing robust economy.

“There are many restaurants in town, we are not here to compete,” he said.

“We believe in our motto, fresh food at an affordable price. We serve meals hot upon orders.”

The couple also specialise in in-house catering and allows their restaurant to be hired for events.

“Once we open our next project, we will employ more staff, as currently there’s only two of us,” he said.

Nadi Special Administrator chair Lawrence Kumar acknowledged Desi Hut’s faith in the township, and said the investment was a boost to economic activities in Nadi.
