Everyone has a unique story to tell. Tupou Bilitaki’s journey to opening her own boutique at the Suva Flea Market is a special story of its own.

Ms Bilitaki, who is originally from Naceva, Beqa but grew up in Tuvuca, Vanua Balavu Island in Lau, was a bank officer at the National Bank of Fiji for 21 years before she was laid off.

She turned to her sewing machine and pattern books to explore her interest in sewing and to put her skills into practice.

The Suva Flea Market offered the 60-year-old an opportunity to share her creativity and love for tailoring, so in September 2022 Ms Bilitaki opened Stels Boutique, Shop 105 at the Flea Market, where she makes beautifully tailored clothes for her customers.

She joins many other women entrepreneurs there with the same drive and passion for fashion and creating art.

SunBiz spoke to the businesswoman to learn about her go-to place to relax and favourite meal to cook, as well as her top travel destinations in Fiji.

What’s Your Go-to Place To Escape Work And Relax?

Moments Café on Scott Street in Suva. I love to escape work and sit there in the morning.

I normally get their detox carrot juice.

What Do You Love To Cook For Your Family At Home?

I love my Shepherd’s pie.

What Places In Fiji Did You Enjoy Travelling To?

I’ve travelled to Yasawa, Vanua Levu, and around Viti Levu.

But I loved the Yasawa group, I went there with Blue Lagoon Cruises, and I loved that place.

What Is Your Top Bucket List Destination In Fiji?
