Vani Tura is the proud owner of Vani’s Handicraft at Stalls 71 and 72 at the Suva Flea Market.

Since 2012, Ms Tura has been making and selling traditional Fijian handwoven mats, salusalu, tabua, tapa, and fans to support her family.

The single mother of four previously worked at a garment factory, hotel, and restaurant, but was inspired to venture into the handicraft business by other women entrepreneurs running their own shops at the Flea Market.

Now she oversees a thriving small business through which she is able to not only make a living and provide for her children but also support a growing community of businesswomen like herself.
