The Fiji Airways Airbus A330 which was damaged during a hard landing in Sydney, the past month, has been flown to Hong Kong for a final maintenance clearance.
Fiji Airways managing director/chief executive officer, Stefan Pichler, confirmed this and said further updates will be provided in due course.
Fiji Airways started off with internal investigations right after the incident occurred and has suspended the pilot responsible for the hard landing.
Mr Pichler, during a press conference in Suva yesterday, responding to questions, said he is expecting the final results of the investigations this week.
Following this, he said: “We have to look at what happened, why it has happened, what are the lessons learnt.”
Mr Pichler is thankful, however, the incident occurred in the low season as it surely would not have had augured well had it occurred in high season.
