Air New Zealand has recognised companies who use its flights to bring cargo to Fiji – and to send exports overseas.
The Trans International Hotel near the Nadi International Airport entrance was fittingly the venue for the happy event on Friday night.
Gibson Freight, DHL Global and Williams and Gosling were just some of the companies who were there to be commemorated for their efforts in service.
Regional Manager New Zealand and Pacifi c Cargo, Gourdie Blair, said: “It’s a great night for all the companies involved.
“We hold this event annually, and I must say it has been a great year for all freight companies.
“We’ve all been through a lot, and we are lucky to have people in the business who we can call family and friends.
“None of this would have been possible without the dedication and assistance given towards us by you,” Mr Blair told company executives.
Each freight company received an award for excellence.
Mr Blair highlighted: “There are no winners, everyone is equal. Everyone in this room is members of our big family.”
Mr Blair had fl own in from New Zealand for the night, and was also accompanied by Allan Roman, Manager of Air New Zealand Freight in Fiji.
Mr Roman is making arrangements for returning to New Zealand after eight years serving in Fiji.
He and Mr Blair were thankful to all of those in Fiji who made the Air New Zealand team feel at home in the Islands.
Air New Zealand is the longest serving international airline operating into Nadi International Airport. It first began flying between New Zealand and Fiji under its original name of TEAL.
