The South Pacific Fertiliser Company (SPF) has shown support for the Ministry of Agriculture with a sponsorship of $10,000 towards the 2013 Crest Agriculture Show.
SPF presented a cheque of $5000 together with $5000 worth of fertilisers which will be given to farmers receiving awards during the show as part of their prizes.
This year’s main Crest Agriculture Show will take place at Lautoka’s Churchill Park from September 3 to 7 and the Labasa Show will be held at the Subrail Park on July 31 and August 1.
While handing over the cheque at SPF board room in Lautoka, chairman for SPF Board and managing director for SPF, John May said they are pleased to be part of this year’s Crest Agriculture Show.
Mr May said the global increase in the world population is putting pressure on agriculture sector and he believes that occasions like this will assist in the development of this sector.
He also congratulated the Ministry for organising the show of such magnitude.
Mr May feels the Crest Agriculture Show provides an excellent opportunity to put across to our people all the facts about the importance of agriculture and the reasons for investing into it.

He said that because of the increasing demand from the public in the Western Division, it was decided this annual event to be staged in Lautoka’s Churchill Park for the second year in a row.
