Satish Narain, former Fiji TV journalist,has taken on his new position as Digicel Fiji’spublic relations &sponsorship manager.
His appointment was effective from July 8.
In doing so, the now former appointee, Zaheer Hassan, has resigned to continue further studies pursuing an MBA overseas.
Speaking on Mr Narain’s appointment, Digicel commercial director, Andrew Skelton, said he had interviewed Mr Narain for the role and he was the best candidate for the position.
“We are excited that Satish has decided on Digicel as his next big challenge,” Mr Skelton said.
“The role will look to strengthen our activation programme around key sponsorships, including the Digicel Cup.”
Work reflection
Mr Hassan reflected on the recent development he had made on his former position.
“The position of public relations and sponsorship manager was an exciting one and I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure at Digicel Fiji,” Mr Hassan said.
“It has been an incredible journey and an excellent learning experience for me.
“My major achievement would be writing the winning proposal for Digicel Group’s Community Project Competition.
“Through this, Digicel Fiji was able to acquire funding of US$50,000 to refurbish the CWM Hospital maternity unit.”
Mr Skelton noted: “Zaheer has been a valued part of the Digicel team with qualities such as integrity and professionalism driving the desired outcomes.
“Zaheer’s decision to complete his MBA will ensure his ongoing development, that will further enhance his achievements.”
