Jolly Good Travel and Tours, a New Zealand-based tour agency, has had positive feedback from local travel agents to promote inbound and outbound tourism.
The company which has a sister company in Delhi, India, is creating opportunities for Fijians to take tour trips to New Zealand and India at what is claimed as a very reasonable price.
Jolly Good Travel and Tours has had an information session with various travel agents to have a partnership in boosting business and promoting Fiji.
Director Jolly Tiwari, who was in Suva on Thursday conducting information seminars with travel agents, said so far they have received positive feedback from travel agencies wanting to partner with the company.
“Since tourism is a growing industry in Fiji, this is an opportune time to promote Fiji and get them to also take advantage of the tour packages that our company offers,” he said.
Mr Tiwari has visited the Girmit Centre in Lautoka, visited hotels and travel agents in Nadi, Sigatoka and Suva to get the word across and get an understanding of the prices and packages the agent’s offers.
“I can guarantee that we will have a great business together which will boost the tourism industry as well the economy of the three destinations,” he said.

The packages
Mr Tiwari said they want to have agents in Fiji promoting India and New Zealand here and on the other hand, promote Fiji to agents in India and New Zealand.
“We offer a discounted rate to tourists and they are able to make the most of it,” he said.
Mr Tiwari said along with the famous pilgrimage packages, they will also give heritage tours.
He claims the heritage tours would be something unique.
“We actually would like to assist Fijians who visit India, meet their grass roots and by telling us where their ancestors were from during Girmit days,” he said.
“We actually help locate their village and get them to visit their origins.
“People can actually have a tour of their background and will be surprised to meet people who actually speak their language.”

Opportunities
Mr Tiwari said Fiji has had a lot of exposure in India with the Bollywood industry now opting for Fiji as an ideal picturesque location.
“We have seen a number of Bollywood films shot in Fiji and this shows business opportunities for all,” he said.
“We hope that more opportunities are likely to come and this partnership will be a great marketing tool.”
Partnership with Cave tour guides
Jolly Good Travel and Tours has partnered with The Cave Tours Nadi to provide a valuable package for tourists from New Zealand and India.
Tour Guide Peni Tuqea said they are grateful to have partnered with Jolly Good Travel and Tours.
“We are happy to work with the team and hoping to promote Fiji to New Zealand and India by providing a valuable tour guide of the country,” Mr Tuqea said.
“We want tourists who come to Fiji to enjoy their stay and take back good memories so that they are able to return and recommend Fiji to their friends and families.
“As Jolly Good Travel and Tours is a wholesaler, we hope to work together bring more tourists to Fiji.”
