Popular and affordable holiday getaway for locals and tourists alike, the Tambua Sands Resort on the Coral Coast, is soon to undergo extensive redevelopment.
Warwick International Hotels regional general manager Pacific, Lee Pearce, said the redevelopment plans includes demolition of the existing accommodation bures and central facilities.
“The planning is still underway on the design of the resort, however individual beachside bures will be retained as the style of accommodation,” he said.
“The central facilities will include restaurant, bars, entertainment areas, spa, and some additional facilities not common in Fiji that we will disclose at a later stage.
“The resort when complete will be unique to the Coral Coast and offer many points of difference for visitors to Fiji.”
Project commencement
The redevelopment of the resort will commence in early 2014.
The redevelopment was to start earlier but the management had to postpone it, in light of a fire at sister resort, the Naviti, last year.
“It is unsure at this stage whether we will close the entire resort for the duration of complete the project in stages,” Mr Pearce said.
However, he said now would be the best time for locals to take the chance to experience one of the coral coasts best locations at affordable prices.
Tambua Sands
The Tambua Sands Resort has 25 bures which offers ocean views or tranquil garden surrounds.
It was acquired by the Warwick Hotel Group last year.
Mr Pearce said they recently appointed a new resort manager, Tevita Tuidraki, who brought a wealth of experience managing both island and mainland resorts.
“He has focused on standards and service in the resort in the last few months resulting is excellent customer feedback,” he said.
