The set-up of the Nadi Gateway DHL warehouse will boost the global logistics industry leader to service Fiji and other 11 Pacific Island countries.
This was after DHL Express Asia Pacific chief executive officer, Ken Lee, visited Fiji for the first time and opened the new facility at the Legalega industrial area on Tuesday.
Mr Lee also officiated at the DHL Express Fiji’s cocktail event at Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel in the evening.
“Today marked another milestone for us at DHL as we opened the new Nadi gateway,” he said.
“Over the past few years, Fiji has seen a fast growth in its economy.
“We ourselves have witnessed the great growth and innovation amongst our customers (you).”
He said because of the economic growth, the Nadi Gateway DHL warehouse was set up.
“We have been here since 1976; for the longest time,” Mr Lee said.
“We are here to facilitate trade; we are here to help our customers here to expand internationally.”
He said they hoped with the new facility, strategically located about 1.2km from the Nadi International Airport, DHL Express would continue to serve its customers better.
“Your success is our success. I cannot thank you enough for choosing DHL and wish you all the best,” he said.
