A hotelier has formed a networking group to build on local talents for the tourism industry
Raffe Group manager learning, capability and quality, Altaab Khan, founded a trainer networking club.
The club, established in Nadi, is supported and sponsored by the Raffe Group of Hotels and Resorts.
Mr Khan said the club’s purpose was to coach, mentor and allow an opportunity for those who played the role of trainers.
Corporate reps
Trainers were from various companies:
Fiji Airways,
Jack’s of Fiji Group,
Fiji Sugar Corporation,
Tanoa Group of Hotels,
Reddy Group,
Douglas Pharmaceuticals,
IHG Hotels,
Motibhai Group, and
Ministry of Labour, and
Tappoo Group.
The group gathered at the Fiji Gateway Hotel in Nadi.
“This is the Trainers Networking Club which is often called the Organisational Development and Culture Change Agents Club,” Mr Khan said.
“We hosted a coaching/mentoring session for industry trainers in the West.
Viber Beginnings
The network was built through a Viber platform called Organisation Development and Culture Change Agents, which has 212 members.
“This club is all about sharing information on training and development,” he said.
“The forum is the first face-to-face introduction to few amazing topics for trainers, unlearning to relearning the training protocols post-COVID, and creating a psychological safe learning space.”
Mr Khan said this was going to be a continuous monthly forum designed to help grow talent in Fiji.
