Coffee, a yarn and a laugh is what Swire Shipping Fijian Drua player, Zuriel Togiatama, calls a break from intense training.
Sometimes after an intense training, he would make it his mission to visit coffee shops.
Time away from the rugby paddock is something Mr Togiatama looks forward to, especially at a cafe.
“Having a couple of yarns and playing cards are my favourites,” said Mr Togiatama.
Mr Togiatama is half Fijian and Niuean, and has been a squad member at the sports club since last year.
His mother is from Bua.
He plays the hooker position in the field. Born and raised in New Zealand, the 24-year-old attended Wesley College and studied at the Auckland University of Technology before joining the Fijian Drua squad.
Interestingly, the hooker’s first name, Zuriel, is derived from the Bible which means ‘my rock’ and his second name is connected to his Niue lineage.
Where in Fiji would you take visitors to?
Sabeto hot springs and mud pool. It is a good way to refresh the body and mindset.
It gives you calm and peace.

A thermal pool in Sabeto, Nadi.
What is your favourite place for coffee/ pastry?
The Coffee Hub.
I always get flat white coffee with almond milk and honey.
The outlet in Nadi has a scenic view, I like it when families meet up and celebrate life there.

What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list?
Savusavu.
My team member, Frank Lomai, often show pictures and talks about the place. I have to check it out before the season ends and after.
It has to be with Mr Lomani.

The Hidden Paradise of Savusavu.
