It is important for young women to have a good network system that seeks opportunities to develop experience and skills, says fashion designer, Hupfield Hoerder.

And an organisation such as the Sydney Pacific Women’s Professional and Business Network (PWPBN) is one of them, he said.

PWPBN is an organization of Sydney-based Pacific women helping Pacific women to connect, share, empower and inspire each other.

“In this very fast-paced environment with daily changes and new technology, our young people need all the support and encouragement from us,” said Mr Hoerder.

The network partnered with Mr Hoerder and launched its website at the inaugural 2023 Frangipani Gala over the weekend, where 300 people attended.

The partnership adds to the successful community-driven support for Pacific women and girls in Australia, said PWPBN.

Its partnership with Mr Hoerder, encourages sustainable fashion with women and men of all shapes and sizes.

They are part of his new fashion line, Serenity.

A sustainable future for our Pacific women and girls cannot be left to chance, said PWPBN chair, Loau Donina Va’a.

The PWPBN website provides a critical platform for the Pacific women and girls and the Australian community to exchange information and resources to ensure our Pacific women and girls in Australia reach their full potential, said Ms Va’a.

She said the site was also designed to advance understanding of the situation of Pacific women, their hopes and aspirations, foster cross-cultural sharing and learning, as well as be better well-versed for forecasting, decision-making and action.
