Plans are underway for the expansion of Paintball Pacific and the new location will soon be revealed, says Dirish Kumar.

The Ba native is the owner and founder of the first paintball field in Suva which opened a few months ago in Vatuwaqa.

Mr Kumar said ever since they started, the operation has been going on well beyond expectations.

Paintball or skirmish consists of individuals or teams donning protective clothing and preparing to do battle by claiming the others marked territory.

Individuals carry a specially designed ‘weapon’ that allows them to shoot paint pellets at their opponents. It is a challenging, action-packed game full of thrills and spills.

The former secondary school teacher believed that the game was a way of solving societal problems and a great way for team bonding.

Mr Kumar resigned from teaching to explore his capabilities.

“I wanted to try something new,” Mr Kumar said.

“All age groups have been coming in and many made use of the Constitution holiday to spend their time here with their families and friends,” he said.

“We had a total of five groups and even night combat.” Fiji’s first paintball field was opened in Sonaisali Island in 2011.
