The first shipment of bauxite for this year left for China from Nawailevu jetty in Bua, Vanua Levu the past Sunday.
Xinfa Aurum Exploration (Fiji) Limited managing director, Sireli Dagaga, confirmed 69,701.65 tonnes of bauxite was exported.
Mr Dagaga said they are planning to have two other shipments before the year ends.
But the next two shipments would depend on the weather conditions.
“If the weather is good, then shipment schedule will be carried out as planned,” he said.
The last bauxite shipment was carried out in April, 2015.
Meanwhile, a total of 22 shipments of bauxite has been carried out by the company from 2012 to 2015.
