BSP boosts teacher conference

The BSP Group through its banking and insurance arms jointly donated $7000 to the Fijian Teacher’s Association at BSP Life Centre yesterday.
This will go towards the association’s 70th Annual Delegates Conference.
While handing over the cheque, BSP Life managing director, Malakai Naiyaga said teachers played a vital role to our future generation.
“We’d all agree that quality education for our children is a vital component of their growth,” Mr Naiyaga said.
BSP Corporate & International general manager Cecil Browne, also echoed similar comments made by Mr Naiyaga.
“As a banking institution, we feel it is important that these contributions will go towards a good course and in this case it is worth it because it will secure the education needs of our children.”
Fijian Teachers general secretary, Maika Namudu said the association has always enjoyed strong banking relations with the group.
He said this timely donation will have a multiplier effect on to the association.
“Our banking relationship with the group also includes the association property on Knollys Street, Suva, which was successfully completed recently and currently 21 flats have been occupied,” Mr Namudu said.
