Adi Chocolate Fiji is proving that apart from our tourism attractions and FIJI Water, Fiji can also be world-famous for its chocolates made here.
The company has already gained export success and has now started exploring opportunities within the local markets starting from the tourism industry.
Managing director, Tomohito Zukoshi, confirmed they are already supplying chocolates to most of the resorts and hotels in the country.
But he said in the next five years, they are looking at becoming a brand name in the domestic market by retailing in the supermarkets etc.
Mr Zukoshi further revealed plans that Adi Chocolate Fiji will soon be launching a new product ‘Fijiana Kakau’ for export to Australia and France.
“We work with the local farmers and pay a good price for the high quality beans in the country,” he said.
“Our chocolate is very rich and nutrient based which is good for the health.”
The company has four staff at its Denarau Island-based outlet.
Tasting session
Meanwhile, the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa celebrated tastes of Adi Chocolate Fiji this past week with guests and staff members.
Executive Chef of Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, Jean Marc Ruzzene, said he has been in the country for a year and a half now and was amazed by the local taste of chocolate.
“The taste of this Fijian-made chocolate is very similar to the Swiss chocolates,” Mr Ruzzene said.
“These chocolates are far better than the imported ones and offer cheaper price compared to those imported. We have a lot of chocolate-made delights in our kitchen and now we are using a lot of these Fijian made chocolates.”
Mr Ruzzene said the event was about creating awareness about what Fiji can offer and produce which is more than just sandy beaches.
