If a business is operating in the market for over 80 years it’s considered strong and for Carptrac, its 85 years in Fiji is as strong as it gets.
The company celebrated this milestone achievement at its head office in Carpenters Road in Raiwai on Friday night. Carptrac is the only Caterpiller (CAT) dealer in Fiji.
Its long-time presence in the Fijian market makes it one of the oldest overseas outside the United States. Carptrac is a subsidiary of Carpenters (Fiji) limited
With support from parent company and Caterpillar, Carptrac has invested heavily in spare parts at any given time, maintaining stock worth $2 million.
WR Carpenters (SP) Limited, Group chief executive Tan Sri Sir Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin said: “With 80 years gone by we are privileged to be here with the Caterpillar family.
“We have the great support from those who head Caterpillar in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Without their dedicated support I am sure we wouldn’t be where we are today.
“Business is good because people tend to be price conscious and…are willingly to pay for quality.
“Also depends if Government projects like Namosi, iron mines in Nadi, Mount Kasi and others take off our equipment will be in demand. It all depends on big projects and growth in the economy.”
It was noted that the established CAT dealer would go to extreme lengths in fulfilling the customer requirements if need arise and would turn productivity downfalls into gained income.
Sir Mogan added: “Customers are our most valuable partners of our business. We thank all our customers for being loyal to us and buying quality products.
“We hope we have done a great job for you over the years. The delivery of goods is really fast which we can deliver even with the time difference with Australia.”
