Westpac Fiji will be investing heavily in what it says introducing a suite of transactional banking products as the country gradually moves from paper to the electronic age.
The bank’s general manager, Adrian Hughes said the products are targeted to all its business customers and are currently being tested.
“It’s an electronic transactional banking platform. For Westpac, we believe it’s unique. And it makes transactional banking very strong. With transactional banking in Australia, we’ve picked up from that and designed the products exclusive to Fiji.”
One of the benefits of the products is a free travel insurance outside the region, he said.
“These are brand new products tested in Fijian market and exclusive to Fiji,” he said.
“That’s where we see the future in banking and people looking for more better exclusive transaction banking solutions.”
Mr Hughes added: “The products are transaction solutions to help our customers to save time and money.”
He made the announcement at the launch of the Westpac Prime Miniser’s Exporter of the Year Awards where the bank doubled its sponsorship to $60,000 this year.
