Alipate Naiorosui is laying down his pen after 21 years of service to Housing Authority of Fiji. Mr Naiorosui has tended his resignation with his term ending at the end of this month.
“I joined HA as a management cadet 21 years ago. In that time, I rose through the ranks and have been serving as chief executive for the past 10 years,” Mr Naiorosui said.
“I figured it’s time to move on and face a new challenge in life. It’s also to give an opportunity to young executives and people to come onboard.
“I believe I’ve done my part and contributed to the growth of the organisation and achievements of some of its key objectives.
“For now, the challenge is to take the organisation to a higher level which is key for the leadership role of Housing Authority.”
Mr Naiorosui commended Government efforts in enshrining in the constitution under Section 35 the rights for all Fijians to have proper homes and sanitation.
“In this, I hope that Government, Housing Authority and other housing agencies will work closely to fulfil this section moving forward.”
At 49, Mr Naiorosui plans to take a sabbatical leave and looks ahead to starting a clean slate perhaps based on consultancy, his qualification in accounting, and looks at farming as another prospect.
He added Housing Authority general manager Lending Jagdish Prasad, will be acting CEO until the board makes a formal appointment.
