Carpenters Hardware, a division of Carpenters (Fiji) Limited, has opened its 13th store focusing on stirring competition within the hardware industry.
The hardware store located on the old MH Supermarket outlet in Nakasi opened yesterday and was immediately flocked with customers.
Carpenters Hardware assistant general manager, Narend Vikash, said: “This hardware was opened because of the demand in the Naulu to Nausori corridor.
“Nakasi is the latest developing area in terms of business development we saw an opportunity that when MH Supermarket moved out we wanted to make our presence felt here in 9 Miles.
“We also had feedbacks that people here needed competition in the hardware industry so Carpenters Hardware saw it appropriate to open an outlet.”
Mr Vikash stressed they were focusing on agriculture in the area especially agriculture-based customers who need farming equipment and general household items.
“Our future plans are to expand our range and give our customers a more variety and quality products with better prices,” he said.
“And also stir competition within the hardware industry for the benefit of the consumers.”
First customer, Nakasi High School principal, Wasu Deo, said: “I feel good and happy. Now that Carpenters Hardware has opened, it means competition and good prices for items.
“This is better for customers and the community because they can choose from a wide variety of products at affordable prices.”
Carpenters Hardware has four stores covering the Suva to Nausori corridor.
