Paradise Beverages (Fiji) Limited is expected to produce the first brew from the new brewhouse in December following an $18 million investment.
This $18 million investment in Project “Bula Vou” is expected to significantly modernise and expand the Suva brewery facility.
Company chairperson, Nessa O’Sullivan, said they are replacing aged plant and equipment to enable the company to more efficiently produce the highest quality, freshest beet for Fijian consumers and for export markets.
Ms O’Sullivan made these comments yesterday during the company’s annual general meeting at the Paradise Beverages boardroom in Walu Bay, Suva.
“I am pleased to report that this project is well underway and we are on track to produce the first brew from the new brew house in December this year,” she said.
Ms O’Sullivan indicated the main focus for the company for 2014 and beyond will be to continue to unlock the growth potential of local and export markets for beer.
She said this would include Vonu and Run under the Bounty and Fiji Rum Co brands.
“The company will also continue to drive the major capital investment programme that will provide the essential plant and equipment upgrades needed to improve our business efficiencies and capability,” she said.
“Also to set the business on a stronger footing for long term profitable growth following many years of material under-investment.”
