LG has strengthened its G Pad series with three new tablets namely, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1. The devices will be unveiled at MedPI 2014, the IT/Tech trade show in Europe to be held from May 13 to 16.
The new G Pad tablets come with proprietary UX features like QPair 2.0 and Knock Code. LG is also offering an updated version of QPair that allows users to connect to their Android-powered smartphones via Bluetooth to receive notifications of calls and messages.
Users will now be able to respond directly from the G Pad. The Knock Code will let users power on and unlock their LG smartphones by simply entering a personalised ‘knock’ pattern on the smartphone’s display.
“Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
“Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritise portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts.”
The G Pad 7.0 has been designed to be held in one hand while the mid-sized G Pad 8.0 is crafted to offer smooth multi-tasking, according to LG.
The G Pad 10.1 gets the largest display as well as battery, among the trio of tablets announced. In terms of specs, not much is known yet.
