Plans to develop Lautoka foreshore area for mixed land use development

The Lautoka City Council is planning to develop about 70 acres of the Lautoka Foreshore area fronting Marina Drive for mixed land use development.
This was highlighted by the Lautoka City Council chief executive, Jone Nakuvadra, in a public notice on Saturday.
In light of this, the Lautoka City Council is seeking expressions of interest from Engineering Consultants with expertise in foreshore reclamation.
Mr Nakauvadra said the area once reclaimed will be developed exclusively for commercial, residential, hotel, jetty, marina, industrial.
This, he said, would allow for expansion of city boundary to capitalise on demand of upmarket development.
Interested consultants are to register their interest and to submit their company profile details of expertise and experience in projects of such nature.
Last day for submission of expression of interest is May 23. Further details are expected to be released upon the return of Special Administrator Praveen Bala tomorrow as he gets back into the country then,
