Fiji Airways has finished negotiations for an additional Boeing 737-800, confirmed managing director/chief executive, Stefan Pichler.
Mr Pichler said this aircraft will show in the national airline’s fleet in the second quarter of next year.
He further highlighted with the additional Boeing 737-800, Fiji Airways will look into additional destinations but he did not wish to give any further details on this as yet.
Meanwhile the reintroduction of the Fiji Airways Suva-Sydney-Suva direct flight has sparked really positive comments by the Fiji-Australia Business Council.
During a cocktail event the past week by Fiji Airways, council incoming vice president Viliame Leqa said the flight has been ‘long time coming’ for members.
“There is a great support from the members in strengthening the business relations and helping out in re-establishing the relations that we have with Australia,” he said.
“Currently we have about 120 plus members of which 80 per cent are concentrated in the central area and that’s why I say that this is something we’ve been waiting for.”
