Digicel Fiji has announced the appointment of Darren McLean as its chief executive effective as of May 5.
Mr McLean, a New Zealander, has been with Digicel for over four years and takes up the new role next week, replacing former chief Maurice McCarthy.
Mr McLean joined Digicel as the Digicel Pacific Commercial director in 2010 and was based in Suva for three years.
He moved to Papua New Guinea last year to take up the role of chief operating officer in Port Moresby.
Mr McLean said: “It’s great to be heading back to Fiji and I look forward to the challenge ahead in this new role.
“I look forward to working with the Digicel Fiji team to continue providing excellent and innovative products and services for our valued customers.”
He said Digicel Fiji had experienced strong growth over the last five plus years in the Fiji market.
