New Pacific Link ATR to start flying in June

New addition to fleet will allow more frequencies as well as new destinations

Pacific Sun’s (soon to be called Fiji Link) new ATR 72-600 aircraft will join the domestic airline’s fleet by the end of next month.
Fiji Airways managing director/chief executive, Stefan Pichler, confirming this said the new aircraft will start flying from June 15.
He said whilst it had been earlier announced that the aircraft will arrive in April, but they preferred it during this time.
“We did want it later because this is when our high season is,” Mr Pichler said.
The aircraft is on a 12-year lease term from Avation PLC, a Singapore-based aircraft leasing company which purchases commercial passenger aircraft and leases them to airlines.
The addition of the aircraft into Pacific’s Sun’s existing fleet will add capacity in both domestic and regional markets increasing frequencies and allowing new destinations.
Following the arrival of this aircraft will also tie in which the adoption of Pacific Sun’s rebranding to Fiji Link.
