Fiji International will also provide an opportunity to promote real estate adjacent to the Natadola Golf Course in Natadola Bay.
PGA Australia chief executive, Brian Thorburn, confirmed they will also be highlighting this real estate as part of promoting the Fiji International tournament to be held in August.
“We are pretty sure, as a consequence, there would be plenty of investment in the country,” Mr Thorburn stressed.
The Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum echoed similar sentiments.
“Through this tournament, the marketing reach is very phenomenal,” he said.
“This is not just positive publicity vis-a-vis marketing for Fiji as tourism destination, but this will also lead to job growth in terms of increasing a different segment within the tourism industry in Fiji.”
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said people generally come to Fiji for honeymoon, holidays, scuba diving which are already developed segments.
“We have not had a developed golfing segment and to do that, we have to first position Fiji as a golfing destination,” he said.
Hundreds of people are expected to arrive into the country for the inaugural Fiji International tournament.
