economy $1.318bn Tourism Earnings This is an increase of $18.2 billion (1.4 per cent) over the previous year’s figures

Fiji’s earnings from tourism for 2013 was provisionally estimated at $1.318 billion.
This represents an $18.2 million or 1.4 per cent increase over the 2012 earnings estimate of $1.3 billion. Australian visitors contributed $704.8 million or 53.5 per cent of the earnings from tourism with $206.3 million or 15.6 per cent attributed to New Zealand visitors.
The earning from the industry for the December quarter of 2013 stood at an estimated at $339.3 million.
This represents a $0.7 million or 0.2 per cent increase over the December quarter of 2012 earnings of $338.6 million. Australian visitors contributed $189.1 million or 66.7 per cent of the earnings from tourism with $49.7 million or 14,6 per cent attributed to New Zealand.
