ANZ has introduced a new product for Ministry of Finance use that will reduce costs and provide speedy processing of monetary transactions.
Signing cheques and lining up in a queues by ministry officers at the bank will now be a thing of the past after the ANZ Transactive platform was launched yesterday.
It was held at the Ministry of Finance, Ro Lalabalavu House on Victoria Parade.
Permanent Secretary for Finance Filimone Waqabaca said this was yet another milestone achievement for the ministry given the utilisation of the latest technology.
“With this new mode, we will do the transfer of the funds directly into the vendor bank accounts from the comfort of our office,” Mr Waqabaca said.
“Initially, through this online payments and cash management internet-based system we will only be making payments with regards to the daily bank transfers in respect of the Government Consolidated Fund (CFA) with the banks.”
He said this move into internet banking was a key output for the 2014 Corporate Plan.
ANZ Fiji acting chief executive, Rakesh Ram said the system was a market-leader internet-based payments and cash management system which provided customer invaluable connectivity.
