The South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE) is bringing back its popular one-hour lunch-time seminars.
This will be held on May 16 at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva commencing at 1pm. The session is free however, prior registration is compulsory.
These seminars are part of the stock exchange’s ongoing Investor Education Programme initiatives.
Through this seminar, SPSE intends to ensure that people are given sufficient information and contact for advice that makes them more committed to start saving and investing for their future financial goals through investing in the stock market.
This one-hour session will feature a brief introduction by the stock exchange followed by a detailed presentation by one of the RBF licensed investment advisers, Praful Patel.
Mr Patel runs his accounting practice out of Melbourne, Australia and has recently set up an office in Lautoka.
He brings a wealth of knowledge through his experience in stock market investments and will be sharing many investing tips together with key elements of financial planning and wealth creation.
SPSE chief executive, Jinita Prasad, said: “Investing in the stock market promises higher returns but it may not be suitable to everyone.
“It is certainly not a get-rich quick scheme and trying to treat it as such will probably end up in disappointment.
“However, if you are well aware of your financial objectives, the stock market can present you with quite attractive opportunities.”
During the seminar, participants will be able to consult investment advisers and stock broker representatives to get advice and place orders to purchase shares in securities most suited to them.
