Tourism promotion Aussie couple win dream wedding

Tourism Fiji has picked an Australian couple out of 470 others from around the world as its social media competition winner for a wedding in Fiji worth over $30,000.
The couple will be married as part of the Fijian Tourism Expo on the May 8, 2014. The couple is Alena Karaka and Mark Armstrong from Queensland, Australia. The “Pin Your Perfect Wedding” competition on Facebook and Pinterest invited couples to create a Pinterest board of their perfect wedding.
From ideal dress, hair and makeup to wedding rings, decorations and venue, Tourism Fiji wanted to see what their perfect tropical wedding would look like.
Tourism Fiji director of Events, Sally Cooper, said she was impressed by the volume and quality of entries in the competition.
“Hundreds of people have made such a big effort,” she said.
“This made our job of choosing a winner tough. Alena’s entry stood out as one that beautifully brought to life all that is great about a Fijian destination wedding.”
