Royal Suva yacht club steps in to help with jazz Blues preparations

The Royal Suva Yacht Club is now the Gold and venue sponsor for Fiji International Jazz and Blues Festival.
Festival director Billy Te Kahika confirmed the sponsorship and said preparations have been amazingly smooth.
Mr Te Kahika said: “We are really grateful to the yacht club for sponsoring the venue and beverages as well. This venue will be great for the four-day festival.”
Club commodore Mark Hirst said: “We’ve come in with a sponsorship package to help Billy. A lot of members are sponsors so things we can’t provide in coin, we can provide in kind.
“I have been involved with the festival for the past two years. When we heard Billy was bringing the show to Suva, we were keen to meet up with him.
“We are very proud to sponsor these guys and a lot of members are sponsors who are coming on board slowly to increase the coverage.”
Mr Te Kahika highlighted special giveaway promotions as well for people to win tickets and prizes from Victoria Wines and Paradise Beverages.
Shows will be hosted at Holiday Inn Suva and the Royal Suva Yacht Club on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm.
The after function shows will be at O’Reilly’s Bar and one show at Pacific Harbour.
The event will be held from May 1 to 4.
