A group of women micro-entrepreneurs were part of the Women Entrepreneurs and Business Council training at the United States of America Embassy in Suva yesterday.
Embassy economic and commercial officer, Cyndee Crook, said the focus was on activities around the world especially leadership in March.
“One of the tenancies is promoting women entrepreneurship where we have speakers who come over and speak to women on various topics,” she said.
“About 25 women are participating in this workshop and the facilitator Dr dt olgilvie focuses on helping women take their business to the next level and improving their micro communications skills.
“Promoting and encouraging women in a variety of areas is something we believe and these participants are heavily supported by the federation,” she said.
Micro entrepreneur Lice Movono Rova said the workshop has been very beneficial and it has taught her lifelong lessons.
Dr. dt ogilvie is Dean and Professor of Business Strategy at the Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was previously Professor of Business Strategy & Urban Entrepreneurship at Rutgers Business School.
“This training really empowers us to explore our mentality and change for the better so that our business grows and even us personally,” she said.
