March 8 will not only be encrypted in the hearts of tireless, dedicated and hardworking women across the world but in particular, three women in Fiji.
The day recognised as International Women’s Day was a fitting day to celebrate the annual Westpac Women in Business Awards 2013-2014.
The awards, as summed up rightly by Women in Business president Dr Nur Bano Ali is ‘organised by women for women’ across the various sectors of the economy.
These women impacted their day-to-day operations, steered the wheel in the right direction and lest we forget, the woman whose future was deemed bright.
And what an eventful and exciting night it was as women and men alike stepped out and into the Novotel Convention Centre.
They were dressed to perfection in the event’s themed Fifty Shades of Purple outfits and other shades.
It was attended by a range of women across Fiji’s various sector and men, members of the diplomatic corps and overseas guests converge at the Novotel Entertainment Centre.
Australian social entrepreneur and chief guest Melina Schamroth, gave an inspirational speech on persistence and striving for excellence in the work that one was passionate about.
Ms Schamroth is the founder of m.a.d (making a difference), international Grateful in April and founder of the m.a.d woman foundation. (Read more about winners and Women in Business 2013-2014 in tomorrow’s edition)
