Datatek Pacific, an international office products company group, has officially entered the Fijian retail market.
Their new outlet is located at Shop 15, Eden Plaza, in Martintar, Nadi.
The group is based in Auckland and Melbourne and has international offices around the world including Miami (USA), Netherlands, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
Datatek business development manager, Praneel Prasad, said the investment here is worth more than $50,000.
“The idea is to grow this IT business. Once we make our name in the market then later we will open more shops all over Fiji,” he said.
Mr Prasad said Datatek used to supply products to some companies in Fiji but now they want to go into retail business.
He said Nadi is a tourism town and they see this as the best location to start up their business.
“We chose Nadi since it was a tourist town with a lot of resorts; Suva is a saturated market so we do not want to touch that market yet,” Mr Prasad.
The company is the sole distributor for Touchmate, Zycoo and IP PBX products in Fiji.
It also sells hp products and Samsung Chrome (notebooks) and other technology accessories.
The company also employs two full-time support staff to care for day-to-day business.
