Pleass Global Limited, known for its AquaSafe brand, has announced two key appointments in a bid to strengthen the company further.
Catherine Pleass has been appointed executive marketing director in a timely bid to strengthen the sales and marketing team, focussing on bottled water export development.
Ms Pleass will also assume responsibility for Kila Eco Adventure Park and Kila Organics company business units.
She said she looks forward to developing new markets with the company range of bottled water and strengthening the senior leadership of the already great team at Pleass.
Chairman Warwick Pleass said “Cate has extensive experience in a diverse range of senior executive disciplines.
“The company needed to strengthen its senior executive capacity after losing the services of our only expatriate, the then Export and Sustainability manager.
“This appointment’s timeliness is compounded by our recent diversification of business activities and launch of the new brand of water; VaiWai Natural Artesian Water.
“Cate’s local and international experience in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) products is exactly what we need at exactly the right time.”
Mr Pleass said additionally, she is strong in marketing strategy, workforce development, major change management and shareholder engagement.
Additional executive director
Meanwhile, company secretary and general manager, Fomiza Bano, has been co-opted by the board as an additional executive director to strengthen the board.
Ms Bani said: “I am pleased to accept this responsibility which I am sure will assist the company and my own professional development.”
Mr Pleass said “Fomiza is a pillar of strength of the company in day to day management and we see her new responsibility on the board as a stepping stone for her as we grow the business.”
Ms Bano’s appointment is effective until the annual general meeting in May this year when a formal resolution for her re-appointment will be put to shareholders.
Healthy start to year
On another note, looking at the state of the company in general, Mr Pleass said they are enjoying a healthy first few months of 2014.
“In the coming few weeks, we expect to make further announcements about the 2013 financial results and securing of additional export distribution agreements,” he said.
“It is looking like a great year for Pleass Global Limited in 2014.”
