Being recipients of a multitude of local and international awards is not new for the Rosie Group.
However, each new nomination is met with the same enthusiasm by the team as the previous one.
This year, Rosie Holidays has been nominated in the Transport Facilitators category in the AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards 2013.
Likuliku Lagoon Resort, which also falls under the Group’s Ahura Group, has been nominated in the Accommodation Luxury category.
Group managing director, Tony Whitton, who was awarded the Visionary Award in past year’s ceremony, said their close to 200 staff gave their best to fulfill their plans in Fiji.

Rough start to clean finish
The past year was not the very best for the Rosie Group as a whole.
Mr Whitton said while they started off on a not very pleasant note, they did make inroads into new markets:
“2013 started off a bit rocky, with our first quarter figures down on the previous year because of Cyclone Evan,” he said.
“But we started seeing a good turnaround in arrivals from May onwards.
“Our traditional markets of Australia, USA and New Zealand are there as a good base.”
Mr Whitton said it was also pleasing to see China, Korea and the Russian markets showing strong growth.
“We also see resurgence in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibition (MICE) market from Australia, New Zealand and USA, as well as China,” he said.

Expectations this year
Mr Whitton said 2014 will not be any different.
“Our goal is to have motivated customers who delight in the services and products that Rosie provides,” he said.
“This is from our airport welcome to high quality tourist transportation services, tour desks and concierge desks in all major hotels, VIP check in, and our lounge at Nadi airport.
“In 2014 we are rolling out new online booking system and wireless in all our luxury Toyota Prado 4WD vehicles.”
Mr Whitton said they retained a genuine belief that tourism can improve the social and economic wellbeing of our people.”
