A world class operations control centre was yesterday unveiled at the Air Pacific headquarters in Nadi.
The centre was opened by outgoing managing director and chief executive officer Dave Pflieger.
The centre brings the operations control of the national carrier under one roof and would now assist the Air Pacific team in timely updating their flight information for their passengers.
This is another part of the three-year plan that Mr Pflieger and the Air Pacific team had undertaken.
“A critical part of our three-year revitalisation plan always included a comprehensive overhaul and modernisation of our operational support. In completing this step, we have maximised our efficiencies, increased our skill-levels and reduced our costs significantly,” said Mr Pflieger said.
“Most importantly, we are supercharging our ability to provide our loyal customers with among the best aviation infrastructure in the world.”
Benefits of the new Operations Control Centre:
r This operation centre provides the team with a one-stop place from where they can monitor all details regarding all Air Pacific flights.
r From the centre, the crewing for all flights, be it in any part of the world, be monitored as well.
r The operations centre boasts the ability to cutting-edge technology solutions, which would further improve on the on-time performance, fleet reliability and capabilities.
This would further enhance scheduling stability and efficiencies with optimal disruption recovery through technology solutions and facilities that enhance decision making abilities.
The unveiling of the new Operations Control Centre comes one month after the airline accepted the first of its three brand new Airbus A330s wide-body aircraft.
The new aircraft carries the new ‘Fiji Airways’ branding that is authentic, distinctive, and true to the airline’s Fijian roots.
