Vodafone Fiji says sales of their 4G devices have gone through the roof since the launch of Vodafone’s 4G network two weeks ago.
Vodafone Fiji chief marketing officer, Sanjeewa Perera, described 4G devices to have been an instant hit with their customers.
“The sales have been so good that we have already run out on few models of the 4G handsets,” he said.
“We may just have underestimated the demand for 4G devices particularly when the busiest Christmas shopping week is yet to come.
“The overwhelming response to 4G devices shows the demand in the market for devices capable of delivering faster internet speeds.”

4000 customers sign up
Mr Perera said the acceptance and adoption of 4G services has been beyond expectation.
He said more than 4000 customers have signed on for the 4G plans within two weeks of launch.
“The daily queues at our 4G counters are getting longer as we approach the last week before Christmas when sales are expected to peak,” he said.
“Many of the customers particularly the younger generation are craving to be the first to own a 4G device.”

4G forges ahead
There have been reservations expressed about the uptake of Vodafone’s 4G services, but Vodafone Fiji is happy to be forging ahead with its 4G rollout.
Mr Perera said: “We have strategies in place to drive 4G uptake.
“For any new product, consumers have to be convinced that the product adds value to their businesses or personal lives to influence their purchase decisions.
“There is clearly a linkage between faster internet speeds with 4G and productivity improvement. So there is certainly value addition with the adoption of 4G technology.”
