Total plans solar terminal in Vuda

Total (Fiji) Limited is planning to open a solar terminal in Vuda early next year.
Managing director, Sylvain Quemeneur, confirming this said Total is more than just oil and gas company but rather an international energy company.
He said Total will have a large solar panel installation through this new energy branch with Sun Power Corporation.
Mr Quemeneur said this commodity would be right in line with what the Government has been trying to do for the environment and also renewable energy.
“We all know today we have to be mindful in the way we utilise energy for us and the generations to come,” he said.
Total is looking at delivering renewable energy together with their fuel products.
Mr Quemeneur said: “Fossil fuel will still be there but you will have at least more reliable access to solar energy.”

One day of service
Meanwhile, Total (Fiji) management and staff on Thursday became ‘Service Station Attendants’ for a few hours to interact/serve customers at selected Total Service Stations around the country.
Mr Quemeneur said: “It’s a day of service worldwide for us. It is a great opportunity for the management and staff to be closer to our customers and make it a good experience for them.”
He said they are always striving for excellence in service and to capture customer feedback.
“It is really important to be close to the customers and to always improve our services,” he said.
“Our one day of service is planned every six months. It is a good avenue for us to be challenged and to gather direct feedback from customers.”

Business progress
As for Total’s business, Mr Quemeneur it was progressing .
“For us, if our service is good, our business is good. With this competitive market in Fiji, we cannot just provide average services to our customers,” he said.
“We have to have innovative plans and continue to invest in the coming years in all aspects of our business including new energy.”
