Former Tourism Fiji’s New Zealand regional marketing officer Ragigia (Gia) Dawai is now bringing her experience her years of experience to the Raffles Group of Hotels and Resorts.
During her time at Tourism Fiji New Zealand, Ms Dawai was responsible for the marketing and promotional programmes that kept Fiji as the second most travelled to destination for NZ travellers.
Prior to the New Zealand regional posting, Ms Dawai spent 5 years at Tourism Fiji Head Office as a marketing officer.
She looked after several markets including South Korea and the United Kingdom and was involved in the development of niche markets such as Cruising and the Backpacker market.
Ms Dawai was also instrumental in providing secretariat support to the Tourism Action Group (TAG), Fiji Tourism Forum and the AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
Her key responsibilities for the group include liaison with global market representatives on sales and marketing initiatives.
She will also be overseeing the reservations, sales and events departments.
Ms Dawai will also be tasked with reviewing and overhauling on-property marketing materials; facilitating training to improve customer service as well as assisting with local inbound and local sales.
She said: ‘This new journey is an exciting one and a role that will give me a deeper appreciation of what our key players in tourism (hotels) contribute to drive Fiji’s economy.

The Group has Plantation Island Resort, Raffles Gateway Hotel and Lomani Island Resort.
