Fiji Airways has announced that its subsidiary airline, Pacific Sun, will be rebranded as Fiji Link in 2014, and unveiled the carrier’s new livery.

Pacific Sun, Fiji’s main domestic and regional airline, is wholly owned by Fiji Airways, and the rebranding of the airline is the next step in the on-going restructure of the domestic airline group.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Stefan Pichler said: “As we’ve stated previously, Pacific Sun hasn’t had a brand alignment with its commercial position since its inception.

“Following the rebranding of Fiji Airways, we made it a priority to create a new identity for our regional carrier. Fiji Link will fulfil its role as an extension of the Fiji Airways network, carrying our customers throughout Fiji and beyond within the Pacific. Importantly, it will deliver all the Fijian hospitality and warmth customers expect when visiting our region.”

An internal brand development process resulted in four design and naming options which were then to be voted on by the public and the staff of Pacific Sun and Fiji Airways.

The new brand will be adopted in mid-2014 after the arrival of Pacific Sun’s new ATR72 aircraft.
