Sixteen Mobil Oil Fiji sites around the country temporarily closed yesterday.
This was to allow the new operator of the service stations, Tappoo Group of Companies, to implement their changes accordingly.
These sites are expected to progressively reopen over a four-day period, with all sites expected to be up and running under the new management by this Thursday September 19.
Mobil Oil Fiji country manager, Ewe Gen Lim, confirmed arrangements had been finalised between Mobil and Tappoo Group of Companies for the operation of these 16 Mobil-owned service stations in Fiji.
“Tappoo have a strong history of retailing and customer service in Fiji, and I am pleased to welcome them to the Mobil team,” he said.
“Mobil is committed to ensuring a smooth transition to the new arrangements and we apologise for any disruption to customers.”
Nine other Mobil sites are not impacted by the change in operator and will continue operating as usual.
The deal with Tappoo’s eventuated following Carpenters opting to cease operating Mobil’s retail service station sites in Fiji.
