Ratu Manoa Rasigatale has been appointed to the advisory board of the Melanesian Trading Company Ltd (TMTC).
Ratu Manoa will act as the company’s cultural advisor as well as advisor for conservation and sustainability.
Operating out of Port Denarau, South Sea Subs a subsidiary of Melanesian Trading, specialise in designing and building custom solutions for marine applications.
These range from semi-submersibles to underwater viewing vessels.
“I am proud to be associated with South Sea Subs and I know that we are working together towards protecting the future of Fiji’s environment,” Ratu Manoa said.
Known as the shark man of Fiji, Ratu Manoa is dedicated to bringing awareness to shark conservation through the Coral Reef Alliance. He is also committed to addressing issues on climate change and conservation.
Melanesian Trading chief executive officer of Melanesian Trading, Rober Van Der Moigg said they look forward working together with Ratu Manoa.
“Ratu Manoa brings cultural expertise to our company which combined with our other talented team members will ensure that TMTC remains at the forefront of marine tourism and conservation.”

South Sea Subs current project is MV SeaView: a 74ft seaquarium that is to be launched next month.
SeaView will enable people to view the amazing underwater sea life but also provide the opportunity to learn about reef conservation and marine life, all whilst looking through huge 1m x 1.5m windows in a spacious, air-conditioned vessel.
