Inter Island Airways (Fiji) Limited has said it is looking to finalise the terminal space agreements with the Airports Fiji Limited later this month.
This has been confirmed by the chief executive and president of this Las Vegas-based Aviana Airways-managed airline, Barney Sene.
The soon-to-be new domestic air service providers will do this after completing their site reviews and then move forward with their improvements in October.
Mr Sene said Airports Fiji had provided them with the scope of work, location of counter space and detailed costs earlier on.
“We have reviewed the counter spaces and office space at Nadi Airport which my team and I inspected two weeks ago,” he said.
“We are working to finalise our reviews of the other airport locations plus additional land/facilities we plan to lease at both Nadi and Nausori.”
CAAF gives update
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) chief executive, Netava Waqa, confirmed they have received Inter Island Airways’ Air Operators Certificate application.
When asked on the progress, Mr Waqa said they could not disclose any further client information to a third party on this.
As for the requirements Inter Island Airways (Fiji) needs to meet, Mr Waqa said these are in the Fiji Air Navigation Regulations and the authority’s standards documents.
Regulations and standards Inter Island Airways will have to meet before starting operations include:
