This week, accounting professionals will gather in Nadi for the annual Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Australia-Fiji branch congress.
The event will be held from August 23 to 24 at the Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau Island.
Recognising that the better-connected global economy presents a world of opportunities for smart business leaders, the congress this year plans to expose these opportunities and reveal them to the wider business community.
The congress will feature a host of experts from varied industry background with the aim of equipping participants with the skills needed to take advantage of the ever-changing world.
The theme for this year’s congress is ‘A World of Opportunity’.
CPA Australia-Fiji branch president, Ravendran Achari, says the theme coincides with the congress’ aim to provide opportunities for business leaders.
He says: “Smart leaders and businesses embrace opportunities that may seem overwhelming to others.
“The 2013 CPA Congress is a conference of innovative thinkers and offers expert and industry insights and plans to expose those opportunities and reveal them to the wider business community.”

International speakers lined up
The keynote speaker this year will be Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and also addressing the congress will be Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on day two.
This year, seven international speakers are lined up from insurance executive personnel, property and computer, marketing internal auditing, mining, and even healthy living experts.
Tourism Fiji chief executive, Rick Hamilton, is also one of the speakers lined up.
