Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) has risen above its challenges and it is today the country’s number one broadcaster, says chief executive, Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum was speaking during a cocktail organised to acknowledge the support of its friends and business partners.
Therefore, he said FBC will continue with its goal to bring quality entertainment and infotainment to its listeners and viewers.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum’s observations have been based on the response mainly from its advertisers/business partners as well as the viewers/listeners.
He highlighted an independent survey conducted recently by one of FBC’s biggest clients.
“The survey showed that over 66 per cent of more than 1000 Fijians surveyed earlier this year, watch FBC TV exclusively.
“These figures are simply astounding anywhere in the world. It also showed out number one radio status in the country through the most popular Bula FM,” he said.
“An incredible growth in listeners who have the spending power, for all our stations means we will soon have a never before scenario where ad space on TV and selected radio stations will become scarce.
“We have reached this incredible position because we believe in ourselves and we believe and know that we can do the best for you and the people of Fiji. We are number one now and still growing.”
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum revealed there are clients who have increased their faith in FBC by moving almost their entire broadcasting spend to FBC.
He also highlighted that in the months to come, FBC will also build further outside the studios with their extremely popular outdoor events.
