A year after its launch, TOTAL Excellium has gained further Fijian market share for the French-owned oil giant and its chain of service stations, says TOTAL (Fiji).
Managing director, Sylvain Quemeneur said TOTAL Excellium proved successful because it lowered consumption and protected the environment.
Mr Quemeneur highlighted this during the announcement of the winner of TOTAL’s Toyota Hilux 4WD promotion and launch of the Gadgets & Gizmos promotion.
It came at a cocktail reception at the Holiday Inn Suva on Friday night.
TOTAL entered the Fijian market when it bought out Shell’s assets in November 2006. It operates a chain of service stations, as well as commercial and bulk fuel, marine, and lubricant businesses.
The Excellium line is marketed as innovative gasoline and diesel grades. TOTAL says they provide better fuel and engine efficiency and lower carbon emissions.
Mr Qemeneur said Excellium is doing extremely well. “In fact Excellium is just really a tremendous innovation of what TOTAL Group is doing here in Fiji,” he said.
“The environment is something that we defi nitely need to push ahead and by reducing consumption we save the environment. We need to keep Fiji clean.”
More ahead
But it does not stop there for TOTAL. Mr Quemeneur noted more innovations to come with less consumption and in this way contributing significantly to the environment.
“We are very proud to announce that we will introduce a new concept before the end of this year and probably a new concept next year,” he said.
“Excellium is an innovative product and we are also investing to innovate in some of the strategies which I’m sure will make the difference in Fiji.”
Meanwhile a four-month long promotion by the company finally came to a close as the winner of the Toyota Hilux 4WD was announced.
Abinesh Chand, of Nadi, spent $30 and won himself the grand prize. His name was handpicked from the 2.2 million entries during the event.
Other consolation giveaways were $50 fuel vouchers for 30 customers were also drawn on the night.
Chief guest was deputy head of mission at the French Embassy, Jules Irrmann and members of the Fiji Bus Operators Association were amongst those present.
